Negreira's son tells the judge he was "disgusted" to learn of the multimillion-dollar commissions Barça paid his father.

Javier Enríquez Romero , the son of the former number two referee, José María Enríquez Negreira , has distanced himself before the judge from the million-dollar payments that FC Barcelona made to his father over two decades and has stated that he was "disgusted" when he found out the amounts, which amounted to more than 8 million euros in exchange for fictitious consultancies.

Enríquez, who has testified as a suspect, has maintained that he did provide advice to Barça that was accurate, that he handed over his reports to former Barça official José Contreras , and that he had no real knowledge of the transactions and the amounts received by his father until the Treasury inspection began, which led to the biggest scandal in the history of Spanish football.

Negreira's son has insisted that he is responsible for his work, reiterating that he considers himself "a good professional" and that he advised Barça on the referees who officiated the matches of its professional teams. This version of events from Javier Enríquez openly contradicts the one Laporta offered in April 2023, when he justified all the money Barça had given to the vice president of the CTA as payment for his son's reports .

Former FC Barcelona presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell also testified as defendants. They justified the payments to the Negreira family by claiming they were "sports consultancies." In the case of the former, he stressed that he dismissed the former vice president of the Technical Referee Committee (CTA) for financial reasons before he ceased to be a refereeing director. He therefore denied breaking up with him because he no longer held any responsibility in the refereeing establishment.

Rosell insisted that Barça won many titles while Negreira was employed because they had "the best team in the world" and denied that the hiring of the former refereeing director was intended to skew the competition in their favor.

Former Barça CEO Óscar Grau also appeared, insisting that the club broke with Negreira before he stopped being the vice president of the referees and that the sole reason for this decision was financial.

Finally, the club's former general manager, Albert Soler , has declared that he denied knowing José María Enríquez Negreira and admitted that he discussed the refereeing reports he submitted to his son. In this regard, he denied having knowledge of any irregularities in the contracts and that he merely approved reports that did exist, that he considered useful, and that were submitted to the club.
